The Lion and Rose British Restaurant and Pub was featured in April in the Community section of the San Antonio Express News. Of course, we know we're not just another bar, but don't just take our word for it, read on...
Rounding out the Broadway pub crawl, the fortified four of us stopped by Lion & Rose British Restaurant and Pub at 5148 Broadway for a night cap.
To our delight, it was German Pint Night. With 37 brews in bottles and 15 on tap, Spaten Lager was the pint night pour of choice.
From the oldest brewery in Germany and one of the most popular, Spaten Premium Lager offered a malty sweetness to the evening’s libation pour tour.
But pubs are not just about drinking. The truly pub-like feel of Lion & Rose conjures up good conversation, authentic pub fare and good music to complement fine spirits. Sports, both the American variety and those crazy games of which the Brits are so fanatical about can be viewed daily on large flat-screen TVs throughout the bar.
Being sporting mates ourselves, we challenged some locals to a game of darts on the two regulation-sized boards. Call 822-7673 for more information.
