The Lion & Rose is proud to be a NEW part of this popular San Antonio tradition, which has been around since 1922, is the third oldest PGA Tour tournament, and the number one community fundraiser. (Read below for more information on tickets and scheduled events.)
Take a trip to the other side of the pond, and enjoy a pint along with some scrumptiously authentic British food at The Lion’s Den, the tasty extension of The Lion & Rose British Restaurant & Pub at this year’s Valero Texas Open, sponsored by Golf San Antonio and Valero Energy Corporation.
“The Lion’s Den” will be a cozy gathering place for friends and family, with the perfect balance of elegance and fun!” says The Lion & Rose CEO/Owner Allen Tharp.
In the past two years, the Valero Texas Open has been the number one fundraiser out of 42 events of the PGA Tour. Last year the tournament raised $8.4 million, all going to local charities.
“We are proud to support our town and take part in this great event because of what it gives back to San Antonio,” says The Lion & Rose’s Chris Royter. “As a further benefit, the Lion & Rose will be providing our Bio Diesel powered Double Decker Bus FREE of charge to help shuttle ticket holders to and from the tournament.”
The Lion's Den will feature a relaxed sports bar atmosphere, complete with dining area and the high-energy, personable Lion & Rose staff serving food and drinks.
The facility includes a private, air-conditioned dining area with outdoor patio umbrella seating, private courtyard and private restrooms. As a backdrop, sofas, loveseats and high-definition TV’s will be showcased and the room will be filled with signature Lion & Rose decor.
The Valero Texas Open, a San Antonio tradition since 1922, and the third oldest PGA TOUR tournament, brings the PGA TOUR’s brightest stars and The Golf Channel's international golf audience to San Antonio. The Valero Texas Open delivers a positive economic impact to the city and helps the city’s tourism industry by promoting San Antonio as a golf destination, and raises much-needed funds for area charities.
Patrons will be able to stick around after the day’s golfing match and enjoy some cold pints, take in some live music, play darts or video golf and kick back with friends.
